FRIENDS
The Friends of Stour Music
In the absence of any public funding, this organisation provides a vital source of income support for the festival. For a minimum donation of £30pa, Friends are the first to receive the festival brochure, and have a two-week priority booking period, allowing them first choice of the best seats available. In addition, they are notified of any special fringe events throughout the year, and invited to the annual AGM party, when the Director reveals his plans for the following year’s festival.

Stour Festival Company Limited
Stour Music is supported by the Stour Festival Company Limited, a registered charity and non-profit making organisation established not long after the first festival to support Stour Music's aim to provide an annual festival of international quality in East Kent. Over the years, the Company and Stour Music have benefited from the tax relief that can be claimed by charities in respect of donations provided that the donor meets the required conditions, particularly since the introduction of Gift Aid in 2001. The Company and Stour Music have also benefited from a number of legacies, which are, of course, exempt from Inheritance tax, and patrons are encouraged to consider making provision in their will for a bequest to be made to Stour Music, to help with the ever-increasing costs of maintaining the festival.
